Swing do Pelo

This pieces is heavily built around a 3-2 clave pattern. No tamborims, no agogos, lots of surdos and claves, shakers and caixas! Alternatively, agogos and tamborims can play 3-2 clave rhythm.

Introduction

The repenique starts a 3-2 clave pattern, after a few bars, the claves enter, then shakers, then caixas, and then the surdos.

Here's the basic rhythm, showing the surdos against the 3-2 clave:

A version of the break we used to play with the Maracatu rhythm.

Vocalization we use:

I want another car
A Toyota car?
A Toyota car!
I want another (car)

(car) is the first beat of the main pattern, so it takes us out of the break.
